Topics include: Merlin ID for bird identification\, iNaturalist for plant and animal identification\, OuterSpatial and AllTrails for maps and hiking\, and more! \nParticipants should have a device that will allow app downloading for the full experience. \nComing in 2026:\nApril – iNaturalist Bioblitz\nMay – Merlin & OuterSpatial\niNaturalist Bioblitz\nDiscover the power of technology in nature! During this program\, participants will get a step-by-step introduction to the iNaturalist app. Including how to create an account\, take clear wildlife photos\, and upload observations. After the short tutorial\, we will head into the park for a mini BioBlitz\, a fun and fast-paced biodiversity challenge where we work together to find and document as many species as possible within a set area and time. This program will be entirely outdoors\, rain or shine.   There is a chance that participants may get muddy. \nAt least one adult must be present with each homeschool group. \nRegistration is no longer needed for the homeschool educational series. \nDISCOVERY HIKE: Spring Wildflowers\nIndian Mound Reserve is an AMAZING place to see wildflowers. Bring your homeschoolers and hike the self-guided trail with informational signs by each of the wildflowers. Naturalists will be on hand to answer questions and lead quick activities along the way. The trails at Indian Mound reserve are rocky and not stroller friendly. You do not have to arrive right at 10:00 for this hike\, but try not to arrive any later than 10:30 so that you have time to enjoy it.

DESCRIPTION:Join the GCP&T Trail Sentinels for a moonlight ride along the region’s bike trails. GCP&T Trail Sentinels are an elite volunteer group who patrol the trails and coordinate several cycling events. \nNight Rides are free and leave Xenia Station at 7 PM\, finishing around 9 PM. The average speed of the ride is 10 – 13 MPH. \nAll night riders must:\nBe 18 and older\nWear a helmet and have lights on their bikes\nHave bike repair items \nIn case of inclement weather or other conditions beyond our control\, last-minute cancellations will be announced on the Greene County Parks & Trails Facebook page. \n***And let’s be real…these rides are for ice cream 🙂
