Wright Brothers-Huffman Prairie Bikeway

The Wright Brothers – Huffman Prairie Bikeway is a 5.29 mile urban trail starting south of downtown Fairborn at S. Central Avenue and South Street. A block later, it bears right and parallels Kauffman Avenue for the next four miles, before tunneling under Rt. 444, crossing Huffman Dam and connecting to Huffman Preserve MetroPark.

Several crosswalks provide safe and convenient access to the trail from the opposite side of Kauffman Avenue (at W. Parkwood, W. Garland, W. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road, and Col. Glenn Highway. - see trail chart below). At the 2.67 mile mark, riders can enter the campus of Wright State University from the crosswalk at Kauffman and Wright State Road. The trail crosses to the south side of Kauffman at National Road.

​​Wright Brothers Huffman Prairie Bikeway will be closed beginning Monday, May 14, as replacement of the old concrete trail begins with a new asphalt trail. Construction will take approximately two weeks.
